Keyboard Hz Checker
Keyboard Polling Rate Test
Check your keyboard Hz, input interval, and response consistency in a quick 10-second browser test. Start the test, alternate between two keys, and get instant average and peak results.
This keyboard polling rate test is useful for gaming keyboards, laptop keyboards, and input troubleshooting when you want a fast comparison without installing software.
Input timing check
Estimate keyboard event frequency and interval consistency.
Result Guide
Convert keyboard Hz into response time.
Polling rate is measured in Hertz. Higher Hz means shorter intervals between input updates, although real-world feel also depends on the keyboard, operating system, game, display, and browser.
About 8ms between updates. Common for basic office keyboards and standard input devices.
About 4ms to 2ms between updates. A solid range for many gaming and performance keyboards.
About 1ms or less between updates. Often advertised on gaming keyboards, but browser readings can vary.
How to run an accurate keyboard polling rate test
Click Start Test, then rapidly alternate between two nearby keys such as A and S for the full 10 seconds. Alternating keys is usually cleaner than holding one key because held keys can be controlled by your operating system repeat settings instead of raw key input timing.
What is keyboard polling rate?
Keyboard polling rate describes how often a keyboard reports input updates to the computer. It is usually shown as Hz. A 1000Hz keyboard can theoretically report input every 1 millisecond, while a 125Hz keyboard reports about every 8 milliseconds.
Keyboard polling rate vs response time
Polling rate is one part of input latency. Response time can also include switch travel, debounce behavior, wireless delay, operating system processing, browser timing, display refresh rate, and the app or game receiving the input.
Browser test limitations
This tool estimates timing from browser key events. It cannot directly read USB hardware polling data, so results can be affected by CPU load, browser scheduling, OS keyboard settings, background apps, and how consistently you press the keys.
Keyboard Polling Rate Test FAQ
What is a good keyboard polling rate?
125Hz is common for basic keyboards, 250Hz to 500Hz is good, and 1000Hz or higher is typical for many gaming keyboards.
How do I test my keyboard Hz?
Start the test, focus the panel, then rapidly alternate between two keys such as A and S for 10 seconds.
Can a browser test the real keyboard polling rate?
A browser can estimate keyboard event timing, but it cannot directly read raw USB hardware polling data. Treat the result as a practical browser estimate.
